JEAN RABEL. Linda made it back safely from a four-day trip to the north of Haiti. She was shooting some video footage and preached at a revival service. One of our graduating seniors, Lucanès, is pastor of the church. She looked worn out but said that everything went well.

PIANO RECITAL. Nicolas was the first of an evening of music and art at Quisqueya Christian School Friday night. He did a great job!

BEFORE AND AFTER. Just received some photos of the building project in Anse-A-Pitre. This is the church that Linda and the team of ladies from Mexico helped build. The finishing up work was done by the Highland Park Church of the Nazarene

SHE'S BACK. Some of you knew that our sole female student, Yanick, had to miss the opening of the semester due to heart problems. Well, she is back and doing well. She had to have a heart cath. and the doctor says that things look good. Yanick and her husband were both born in Haiti, but grew up in the United States. They are back now as missionaries and pastor a Baptist Church close by the campus. Thanks for your prayers!

WHAT KIND OF GOOSE? Well the town is called Kagousse, and It took over nine hourse to travel the 150 miles to get there, but we made it. Robert (the academic dean), three students, myself and about half a dozen others from the South district made quite and impressions as we pulled up to the church just before sundown. This isolated town isn't used to many visitors, but we all gathered to begin pastoral training classes. This is the third center opened on the South District. There are ten Nazarene churches but only two pastors who have finished their studies. There were nine students in all, including a grandfather and grandson team. Very encouraging.
The rich red clay reminded me of North Georgia and parts of South Carolina!

Our classroom in Kagousse

We took advantage of the bright sunshine and the cool breeze and met outdoors most of the time. Pastor Robert and I took turns teaching.

GOODBYE TO MORE FRIENDS. One of the serious downsides to living as a missionary is how quickly we make friends only to say goodbye all too soon. This is very much the case with Shane and Christy Mattingly and kids. These two have worked in Haiti as youth pastors to English speaking teens. Their little ones (Brendan, Naomi, and Noelle) and our kids have been growing up together for almost three years. They are moving back to the States next week. Shane has been a great buddy and fellow pilgrim. We'll miss them.
