One of our LINKS churches has a very nice website. Don Johnson just sent the link, so here it is: Guildford Church of the Nazarene. And of course, it's linked back to us! Great site, Don!

Just received an update on Doug's wife (see entry for Friday, Aug. 30). She is doing much better. She had a bad asthma attack right before Doug came to Haiti. She says that she is still taking treatments, but that her "breathing numbers" are coming up.

On another health note, Rebecca finished her major course of antibiotics. She now settles into a once-a-day dose for 12 months. But she is doing so much better! Thank you all for your prayers. They were (and are!) felt and appreciated!

We have had some really good contact with our new LINKS District--The Canada Pacific Church of the Nazarene. This is a program in the Church of the Nazarene where we hook-up with another district. Share our stories and raise awareness of what is going on in our little corner of the world.

Doug and David Arrive. Doug Windham and his best friend David Anderson arrived yesterday from Lakeland, Florida. Doug is a mechanic who makes regular trips to Haiti to keep our vehicles working. This is a MAJOR help to us. What most folks in the States call "off-road" we call "good road" here! So our cars and trucks take a beating. Our kids call him Uncle Doug.

UPDATE ON KIDS. As you may know, Rebecca had to be flown out to the States this summer with a kidney and bladder problem. She received excellent care and is back in Haiti. Nicolas and I enjoyed our extra time together. We even spent a couple of nights away at the beach. Very nice. Both started school this week and are doing great! Becca is in pre-K and Nicolas started first grade at Quisqueya Christian School.

ENROLLMENT. As mentioned below, we have a huge freshman class this year. Our total enrollment is also way up. We have 41 in the Diploma program and 32 enrolled in the Bachelors program. As you can imagine, we are running out of room. Although we began expanding our facilities three years ago, we can't keep up. These are good problems to have. If anyone knows and architect who would come down and help us out...

We just finished our second day of the new semester. Due to some troubles up North, some of our students were a day late getting to campus, but they are all here. And what a crowd it is! We have 18 freshman this year. Our largest class ever. Most are from the Church of the Nazarene. Three are from the Wesleyan Church. And one is from the Evangelical Holiness Church. But our big news is that we have two ladies joining us this year. Both have already finished degree programs at other schools and are working toward their Bachelor's degree. Be praying for these pioneers! It has been many, many years since we have had a female enrolled. They are Emma and Yanick.
